Tazewell Speedway welcomes the World of Outlaws Late Model Series on Saturday, April 11 for the Ray Varner 50. Saturday’s winner will collect $10,000.
Shane Clanton leads the WoO LMS into Tazewell coming off a hot streak during Speedweeks in Florida last month. Clanton has built a sizeable lead over defending series champion Darrell Lanigan.
Morgan Bagley, Josh Richards, Chub Frank, Tim McCreadie, Frank Heckenast Jr, Chase Junghans, Rick Eckert, Eric Wells, Richard “Boom” Briggs, and Brandon Overton round out the series regulars in points.
Other stars such as Jimmy Owens, Ray Cook, Billy Ogle Jr., Stacy Boles, Chad Ogle, Vic Hill, Donald McIntosh, Jeff Wolfenbarger, Bryan Hendrix, and more are expected to be at Tazewell for the WoOLMS event.
The World of Outlaws Late Model Series format consists of time trials, heat races, last chance races, and the 50-lap main event for $10,000.
Also on the racing program for April 11 will be the sportsman division for $800 to win, classis cars, four cylinders, and super stocks for $500 to win each. Tazewell’s limited late models will not be racing.
Pit gates open at 3:00 and grandstand gates open at 4:00. Racing will begin at 7:30. General admission tickets are $25 for adults, kids 9 and under are free with a paying adult. Pit passes are $40 for adults, kids 12 and under are $30 with a signed minor’s release.
