Just one week after the $250 bounty was claimed on Jason Trammell the Knoxville native dominated the Limited Late Model feature and picked up  the $1,200 top prize. Dakotah Knuckles of Ewing, VA turned the only sub 12 second lap in qualifying with a blistering lap of 11.972 seconds and earning the pole for the thirty lap feature. Trammell would qualify second earning the outside spot on the front row.
As the field took the green flag Trammell used the top groove to shove his way into the lead in turn two. Coming to the stripe to put the first lap in the books Trammell and Knuckles were door to door. Behind them Greg Estes of Jonesville, VA, David Clark of Tazewell and Brian Shockley of Thorn Hill jousted for positions. Several times in the early laps Knuckles appeared to have the faster car yet had trouble finding an opening to get back alongside Trammell. By the halfway point Trammell had a full straightaway advantage over Knuckles and the rest of the field. Even after a late race caution bunched up the field Trammell was able to pull away to record his fourth Tazewell Speedway victory in the Fastlane Signs & Graphics, Quality Medical Center, Trammell Construction, Hatmaker Holdings, High Velocity Heads, Integra Shocks, Charlie Brown Screen Printing & Embroidery, Hoosier Tire by Pup sponsored Rayburn Race Car with power from a Vic Hill Race Engine.

Last year’s Sportsman points champion Clyde Overholt of Tazewell made his first Late Model start of the season and turned in the quickest time in time trials with his teammate Jonathan Miracle recording the second fastest time. Overholt would pull out the one on the invert draw giving him the pole for the feature with Miracle on his outside.

Storming out of turn four with the green flag in the air Overholt and Miracle made it a drag race down the front stretch. Overholt would bobble in turn two allowing Miracle to slip into the lead. Behind them last week’s winner Michael Boyd of Morristown had his hands full holding off Tazewell’s Anthony Arnwine and Kentucky’s Cody Smith. On lap nine Wade Howerton would spin bringing out the yellow flag. During the caution Overholt would pull off the track giving up the second spot. On the restart Boyd began pressuring Miracle for the lead. Two laps later Boyd would dive pitside with a flat tire giving up second to Arnwine who was looking for his best finish of the season. With three laps to go Arnwine would spin on his own in turn two. Miracle would lead the rest of the way yet before he could celebrate the victory his engine was protested by Smith. After the inspection Miracle’s engine was declared legal giving him his second win of the year in the Petty’s Wrecker Service, Noah’s Wholesale, Parker’s Performance, Tim Fletcher Heating & Air, Claiborne Marine, Eagle Race Engine powered Rayburn Race Car.
