Tazewell Speedway proudly welcomes the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series on Friday, June 3 for the 12th annual Toyota Knoxville 50. The $10,000 to win event is one of the longest running events with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and is always a fan favorite.
Defending series champion Jonathan Davenport leads the field with the series points lead into Tazewell Speedway. Davenport is also the defending race winner of the Toyota Knoxville 50. Davenport made a late race pass on Scott Bloomquist who currently sits second in the series points.
Jimmy Owens of Newport is fresh off his thrilling Show Me 100 win last Saturday. Owens is always a favorite to win at Tazewell Speedway.
Other Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series regulars include Jared Landers, the 2012 Toyota Knoxville 50 winner, Brandon Sheppard, Tim McCreadie, Darrell Lanigan, Dennis Erb Jr., Don O’Neal, Earl Pearson Jr., Steve Francis, and rookie contender Colton Flinner.
Those drivers will be battling regional favorites such as Donald McIntosh, Billy Ogle Jr., Stacy Boles, Jeff Wolfenbarger, Steve Smith, Mack McCarter, and others.
Also on the racing program for Friday, June 3 will be the open wheel division for $1,200 to win, sportsman division for $800 to win, and super stocks for $800 to win.
Pit gates open at 2:00 and grandstand gates open at 4:00. Hot laps are scheduled to start around 7:45. General admission tickets are $25 for adults, children 9 and under are free. Pit passes are $40, children 12 and under are $30.
