A school teacher by trade, David Payne schooled the field in winning Saturday’s Toyota of Knoxville 50. The $10,000 win was the biggest paying win in Payne’s career. Payne held off charges by Jimmy Owens and later Brandon Overton to secure the win. Michael Chilton made a last lap pass to grab second while Kyle Strickler edged Overton at the line to take third. Other winners were Jonathan Miracle, John Stevens, and Donovan Long.
