

The 10th annual Buddy Rogers Memorial 44 is the next race at Tazewell Speedway on Sunday, September 2. The co-sanctioned race with the Southern Nationals Bonus Series and Iron Man Late Models will pay $4,400 to the winner.
David Payne, Aaron Ridley, and Chicky Barton are in a tight battle for the SNBS points lead. Joey Standridge lead the Iron Man standings. Those drivers will be joined by Casey Roberts, Vic Hill, Dakotah Knuckles, Chad Ogle, Brian Smith, and others.
The Brucebilt Iron Man Modified Series will also be racing for $1,000 to win. Many of the area’s top open wheel drivers will be at Tazewell Speedway for this event.
Also racing will be the sportsman late models for $800 to win, street stocks for $500 to win, and four cylinders for $500 to win.
The Matthew Hickey Band will perform a free concert at 6:00.
Pit gates open at 4:00 and grandstand gates open at 5:00. The drivers meeting is scheduled for 7:00. Hot laps will begin approximately 7:30.
General admission tickets are $20 for adults, kids 9 and under are free. Pit passes are $35 for adults.
Tazewell Speedway will again partner with Jimmy “Pup” Thomas of Hoosier Tire South and will once again be raising money for the American Cancer Society as part of the Buddy Rogers Memorial event. Drivers, fans, business owners, or anyone else can sponsor a lap in the event for $44 (or more if an individual or business feels the need to do so). A lap board will be kept displaying all the names of individuals or businesses that make donations to this very worthy cause.
