Tazewell Speedway returns to action on Tuesday, July 3 when the Southern Nationals Bonus Series presented by Sunoco and Tennessee RV and the Iron-Man Late Model Series rolls in with a $5,000 to win co-sanctioned race. Plenty of racing and fireworks will be on display at the World’s Fastest 1/3-Mile Dirt Track.
Aaron Ridley currently sits atop the SNBS standings heading into the July 3 event. Former Tazewell winner David Payne is second in series points. They will be joined by some of the area’s top drivers such as Vic Hill, Dakotah Knuckles, Chad Ogle, Chicky Barton, Brian Smith, and more. Joey Standridge leads the Iron-Man standings.
The Brucebilt Iron-Man Modified Series will also be part of the July 3 program for a $1,000 to win race.
Also racing will be sportsman late models for $800 to win, classic cars and four cylinders for $500 to win each. There will be a fireworks display during intermission.
The Matthew Hickey Band will be performing at Tazewell Speedway from 6:00 until 7:15. Fans are invited to arrive a little early to listen to one of the area’s top musical acts.
General admission tickets are $20 for adults, kids 9 and under are free. Pit passes are $35 for adults. Pit gates open at 4:00 and grandstand gates open at 5:00. The drivers meeting is scheduled for 7:15. Hot laps will roll out at 7:45.
