June
22, 2013 - The ever faithful Tazewell Speedway fans came out
in droves on Saturday night and were rewarded with some of the
best racing of the season.
Modified Street were up first in their twenty lap feature. Gary
Blanken would set fast time with a lap of 13.610 seconds. Brad
Davis would qualify second and after the invert draw would start
on the outside of the front row alongside Warren McMahan. As
the field took the green and stormed into the first turn Davis
would get sideways coming out of two and get collected by another
car. Davis limped to the pits with a flat left rear tire and
since no laps had been recorded would get his back his starting
spot. On the restart Davis would race door to door with McMahan
for the top spot with Blanken lurking behind them. McMahan used
the bottom groove to keep up with Davis, pulling up alongside
Davis several times. On lap fifteen McMahan dropped out with
mecahnical woes handing second over to Blanken yet it wasn't
enough to catch Davis. Notching his fourth win of the season
Davis celebrated in Victory Lane in the Old Town Grill, Jeffers
Exterminating, A-1 Tint and Detail, Andrews Construction, Just
Bounce, Country Gun & Pawn, Phantom Race Engines powered
Renegade Race Car.
