Rules Same as Lucas Oil Series Three (3) Engines for 2010
ENGINE A 362
CID Max. Weight 2450, 8 inch spoiler
Block: OEM
cast iron or after market steel block crank. Any steel crank with the
exception of titanium and or other exotic materials.
Bore & Stroke: Optional
Rods: Steel
rod only. No titanium or aluminum
Cam: Roller
permitted. Flat tappet cam 50lb weight break
Piston: Flat
top piston and pins only. Zero deck, piston cannot come out of hole.
No Tolerance.
Ignition:
Any type permitted. No traction control allowed. MSD units or equivalent
electronic boxes may be bought for $300
Heads: Cast
iron 23 degree head only
Oiling Systems: Dry
sump permitted. Wet sump 50lbs weight break
Intake Manifold: Any
intake permitted. May port & polish
Carburetors: One
four barrel. GAS ONLY
Tires: Both
rear tires at all times must punch 60. 5 point tolerance after feature
race. NO FRONT TIRE RULE.
ENGINE B
Block: OEM
cast steel block or after market steel block, all components must remain
in stock location. No raised or oversized cam journals. No over-sized
lifters.
Crank:
Cranks must be minimum of 50lbs. After market cranks allowed, 1/2lb.
variance will be allowed, crank will be weighed with gear and keyway.
Balancing ok. Drill hole or weld or install Malory metal. Oil holes
may be race chamfered. No other machine work allowed
Piston: Flat
top only Zero Deck
Rods: Steel
rods only. No titanium or aluminum. Max stroke 3,500 with .005 tolerances.
Max bore 4,070 with .005 tolerances
Oiling Systems: Wet
sump oil systems only. Add 50 lb for dry sump or external oil pump single
stage, oil cooler allowed.
Heads: Steel only. May be flat or angle milled Valve job may be any angle and any depth. Stock OEM heads. No porting. No polishing, grinding or excessive deburring in any breathing area., No shot peening or acid porting. Heads may be deburred or outside areas only. Intake must be cast aluminum. Aftermarket intakes allowed. No modifications except for auxiliary water lines. Valve spring pockets may be machined. May have competition valve job any angle, any depth. All angles must remain concentric with valve guide. May be machines for push rod clearance. May be flat or angle milled. Vortech heads are allowed. Maximum 2". Carb spacer is allowed. After market heads. Dart, World, pro-Action, Bowtie, SVO, Mopar, Performance or other. Chevy heads must be 23 degrees standard runner. No raised runner heads. Single plane intake is allowed. No modifications except auxiliary water lines. Hi-Tech torc link intake is not legal on after market heads. Stud Mount roller rocker arms allowed and shaft type allowed. Stud girdles allowed.
