TRAMMELL DEBUTS NEW RIDE WITH WIN

August 4, 2012 - On a night of looming threats from mother nature, track officials worked hard to bring the track to life. Home Federal Bank would be on hand as a sponsor of kids' night by spreading 20,000 nickels on the front stretch. Track preparation had the track in good shape and slick for the night of the field inversion of the top four cars in each class. All conditions looked good for a great night of racing at the Taz.

Time trials would see Josh Henry take fast time in the Tazewell late models. Jordan Horton would win fast time in modified street. Robbie Sands Jr. was the fastest of the classics. Jason Long would take the top time in pure street. With the new top four inversion rule put in place by track officials, being the fastest qualifier doesn't guarantee a win.

Four Cylinders

On the speedway first was the four cylinders. The green flag flew with a large field. Caution came on the first attempt. Mark Wallace took the lead showing the way through lap 5. The Brad Pressley would take over the lead with a slide on the bottom. Kurt Owens would begin to apply pressure as the caution flew on lap 7. The field would take the green flag with Brad Pressley leading the field once again with Owens in tow. The race to fill the top 5 was tight. Brad Pressley would take the checkered flag and dedicate his win to the passing of his father-in-law. In a later interview, Pressley stated that the track was good, it was a clean and fun race, and that he was glad to see a good car count. He also wanted to thank his sponsors which include Trammel Design & Sign, Carcare Muffler, Little Miracles Child Care, U Junk It, A+ racing, and his father, David Pressley.

After several attempts to restart after cautions, the field would finally begin to find their groove and count away the laps.
